Taser Testing Results

In 1971 and 1974 a group of volunteers were tested by an impressive group of cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons. Dr. Frank Summers, M.D., an anesthesiologist and specialist in medical electronics, conducted a carefully controlled study in the operating rooms at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, California.

Dr. Summers gathered a cadre of specialized physicians and technicians to test a real Taser. They filmed the proceedings while running a large battery of tests on the group of volunteers.

Taser shocks were administered to the volunteers while the effects were monitored. The doctors checked all of the relative physiological parameters, including electrocardiographs. The doctors were impressed with the test results.

There were no lethal effects as a result of the tests.

What the doctors found was that all the developmental background work which had been done was as effective in practice as it had been under laboratory conditions.

The research paid off. Citizens, even the elderly, now have a non-lethal form of self-protection which is affordable and easy to use. Tasers are now available in a wide variety of sizes and styles. There is indeed something for everyone.

The newest technology makes it possible to stash a Taser in strategic spots in the home and car. Now we can rest a little bit easier, secure in the knowledge that self-protection is close at hand.
