In a recent study of men who abduct and rape women, the vast majority of them said that they rarely carried any kind of a weapon. Their reasoning is pretty clear. Rape committed while in possession of a weapon holds a fifteen to twenty year sentence. However, ninety-eight percent of rapists said they do not carry a weapon because the penalty for rape without a weapon is only three to five years.

What’s so is that would-be rapists do not want to take the time to deal with someone who resists. The object of their exercise is to subdue and abduct or rape a woman as quickly as possible. If you make a lot of noise and object strenuously it takes up valuable time and energy, making their likelihood of getting caught go up dramatically. So scream, holler, kick, scratch, and arm yourself with something like a stun gun or Taser that you can keep with you, get at quickly, and use effectively.
