Neighborhood Watch Decided to Buy Stun Gun
When the regular police force couldn’t stop the rash of break-ins, robberies, assaults and rapes, local women decided it was high time for them to get organized and do what the cops couldn’t: stop the bad guys. These women were serious.
They did the research. They made their decisions. Each one decided to buy a stun gun.
The next step was to learn how to use their weapons. With the help of a couple of staff members from the local law enforcement agency and a female martial arts instructor they practiced what to do in a wide variety of situations. They also figured out how to carry and get at their weapons should the need arise.
Most of the women chose to keep their non lethal weapons – and their cell phones – clipped to their belts at all times. Many also bought extra stun guns of different shapes and sizes for strategic placement at various possible entry points in their homes.
Their careful planning paid off. About three weeks after everything was in place it happened.
One sunny morning, while sorting laundry, one of the women heard a noise in another part of the house. Instantly alert, she did a quick mental inventory: the kids had gone to school, the dogs were in the back yard, and her husband was at work.
With her stun gun in one hand and phone in the other she headed toward the back of the house. As soon as she was certain about the presence of an intruder, she dialed 911.
Then the bad guy spotted her. As he closed the gap between them the woman thumbed the safety switch on her stun gun and turned it on. When the assailant grabbed one arm she nailed his bare wrist with the stun gun. He fell to the ground in agony but unable to move. Just to be sure he wouldn’t get up immediately, she stunned him a second time before running next door.
Meanwhile, the police cruiser rolled up and the two officers took him into custody.
Not bad for a bunch of women, eh?
