Pepper Spray Foils Potential Date Rape
When she got all dolled up and put on her lipstick, ready for the prom with her Dream Date, it didn’t occur to her that she would be in a fight for her virtue and maybe for her life.
Soon after picking her up, the Dream Date swung by a friend’s house where he picked up some alcohol and smoked a couple of joints. She waited in the car, expecting him to return shortly and drive her to the dance where they would mingle with their high school cohorts and then cap off the evening at an After Prom Party at a private residence.
They made it to the prom. They were seen by several students and a couple of the chaperones. The chaperones also noted that the fellow appeared to be a bit unsteady on his feet, as if he were tipsy or stoned. They were right.
When they left the dance, he drove to a secluded spot where he offered her something to drink, which she accepted. After several swigs off the bottle, he started sweet talking and urging her into the back seat. When he began pawing her less than gracefully, she declined his advances and soon insisted that he take her home.
He pressed his attentions even more insistently. When she resisted he slapped her and tried to press the issue. When her attempts to get out of the car were blocked she upped the ante.
Her dad had armed his daughter with a new canister of pepper spray which was attached to her key ring. She retrieved the canister from her purse, held it in position and told him to stop and that she would use the pepper spray if he didn’t.
He didn’t believe her. He reached for her again. She sprayed him in the face.
He left the car rapidly, screaming and calling her foul names.
She drove away, but used her cell phone to call for help for herself and for her date.
Thanks, Dad.
