Today’s Stun Gun Means Enhanced Safety in Risky Situations
When electrical engineers developed the new generation of stun gun they had to think way outside the box. And a good thing they did. Society is changing. What is acceptable (or not) is changing. The very shape of risk is changing.
Risk has always been around. In the old American west there was always the risk of flood, famine, drought, coyotes, fire, cattle rustlers, and outlaws. Back then having a Colt on your hip or a shotgun slung across the saddle provided some measure of security.
The main thing that upped safety was to think ahead. To stave off starvation they dug root cellars to store food. They dammed creeks to make watering holes for livestock and to irrigate kitchen gardens or entire farms.
Today we use seatbelts and deadbolts and security alarm systems. We look twice before crossing the street and signal before making a left turn.
We also need to plan ahead for possible threats and how to meet and handle them effectively.
What’s your plan?
