Pepper Spray Grows in Popularity
In recent years, as the need for personal protection has continued to grow, pepper spray has become the weapon of choice for thousands. Take a look at some of the reasons its use is growing.
- Pepper spray canisters come in a wide range of sizes – from lipstick-sized packages up to whopping big one pound cans full of specially formulated “bear spray.” The smallest units are perfect for slipping into an evening purse or a pocket and are capable of providing serious protection.
- Pepper spray is portable. One of the most popular models is designed to be carried on a key ring. The fact that it is easy to carry means that more people will keep it close at hand rather than let it get buried in the murky depths of a tote bag or locked in a brief case.
- Pepper spray is safe to carry. Virtually all models have a positive lock safety cover over the trigger mechanism. While it is easy to thumb up the tab and get it positioned to use, the likelihood of accidentally discharging in purse or pocket is very low.
- Pepper spray is not lethal. That brings up two important points:
If you use it on the bad guy, he will not die.
If the bad guy takes it away and uses it on you, you won’t die, either.
Take a look at what is available in terms of size and how you will carry a unit. You are sure to find one that is perfect for your needs.
