Alley-oops, Pepper Spray needed at High School Basketball Game
Two High School basketball teams were just finishing up a hard fought game when the winning team went for a shot and a foul was committed. Apparently, the losing team felt that they were getting the loss rubbed in their faces, pushing, shoving, and yelling broke out on the court. Pepper spray was the final tool used to stop the fighting.
The people in the stands were not about to miss out. The crowd became worked up when players from both sides had players ejected from the game. One parent in the stands kept their camera rolling and captured the unfolding events.
The video clearly shows an adult from the crowd walk out and punch the coach of the team he was not supporting. Meanwhile, at least one player was in the crowd throwing punches. The coach who got hit had already sent his team to the locker room and was doing his best to stop the fighting.
In order to put a stop to the brawl, the school police officer used pepper spray at this point. This seems to have encouraged the people involved in the fight as well as the spectators to leave the gym. So far, one player and a few adults have been charged criminally. The smell of the chemical agents spread throughout the room and did its job well.
Police stated that more charges may be filed after further review of the video tape. The pepper spray stopped what could have been a long fight and the video will help the police make sure troublemakers pay the piper.
