Woman Shot by Taser While in Custody

For the most part women are not as combative as men. If they do feel like fighting the threat of being Tasered or of any kind of physical discomfort usually takes the wind out of their sails. Then there are those women that push too far and end up meeting the business end of a Taser.

The Moultrie police responded to a call that involved two women who were intoxicated at a restaurant early on Sunday morning. The two young women, one 22 and one 23, were both charged with public drunkenness. One was also charged with furnishing false information to an officer and the other was charged with resisting arrest.

Both of the women were argumentative. They were both taken to the jail where one young woman would not calm down. She refused to sit when asked to and punched an officer. Soon there was a fight going on between the young woman, an officer, and a jail officer. The Taser stopped the fight when, after its use, the woman became cooperative.

Tasers are very effective at diffusing a situation that otherwise might lead to more fighting. When an officer uses a taser they hope to be able to gain control over the bad guy. Once a subject has been Tasered they find themselves quickly handcuffed and on their way to jail.

Tasers can often stop the need to have physical use of force. Although the news is full of stories where officers are using Tasers, there are also stories now and then starring civilians. Everyday people can learn to protect themselves and their loved ones with Tasers.
