Aggressive Cocaine User meets Stun Gun
Stun guns can put a bad situation to rest in a hurry. Police officers spend hours training and it shows when they need to put their stun guns to work. In fact, most agencies insist that officers endure an electric shock from a stun gun before they can carry one on duty; this is often the culmination of the taser and stun gun class.
Recently, three men were caught with 212 grams of cocaine. Steven Amatruda, 21, Luis Cruz, 28, and Raymond Ditillo 19, were all involved in the incident. The three were traveling in a black Mercedes.
Steven Amatruda was driving the Mercedes. He attempted to leave when narcotics officers approached the car. In his bid for freedom he rammed two of the officer’s vehicles.
All three were charged with possession of narcotics, as well as possession of narcotics with the intent to sell. Steven Amatruda fought with the officers and will face more charges. Officers needed to use a stun gun to get control of the fighting man.
Luckily, the officer’s on the scene were prepared for just such a situation. They were able to arrest Mr. Amatruda without any permanent injuries being inflicted. The cocaine was found under his seat in the vehicle. Even if Mr. Amatruda was under the influence of the cocaine, the stun gun was effective.
The three men are likely to remember their night on the town. Hopefully, the local law enforcement will not need to interact with them again in any type of similar circumstance. The officers and the stun gun all did their jobs well.
