Tasers and Stupid People Don’t Mix

Some people just aren’t smart and sometimes their lack of forethought, or lack of thinking all together, can land them in some trouble. Sometimes this trouble can involve a Taser.

In the United Kingdom it is illegal for a citizen to possess a Taser. But this didn’t stop Ricky Hodgkinson from purchasing one from his buddy, saying that the Taser would be used to defend himself. However, the only person he ended up using the Taser on was himself!

After being arrested for carrying the Taser illegally, Mr. Hodgkinson’s own lawyer dubbed him a sort of real life Homer Simpson. This was because after having a few drinks with some friends, Mr. Hodgkinson shot himself in the chest with his illegally acquired Taser. He said that he was disappointed because it didn’t really hurt much. Disappointed?

The Taser was analyzed by an expert in firearms and it was confirmed that it was a 1,000,000 volt Taser. Tasers used by police only give off around 50,000 volts and those stop perpetrators all the time. This kind of leaves one wondering if he actually shot himself, but we’ll leave that up to the courts to decide.

It’s bad enough to shoot yourself with a Taser, but what about getting zapped by a Taser over a pair of shoes?

Kid Cudi, a rapper from Cleveland, was supposed to entertain at a Reebok function but showed up in a pair of Jordan shoes. Kid Cudi was told to change into a pair of Reebok shoes but refused. The situation quickly escalated and the police were called. When Kid Cudi refused to calm down over the shoes, the police used their Tasers on him. That calmed him down.

These stories really make you wonder what goes on inside of some people’s heads.
