Pizza Man Kills a Teenager in Self Defense
If I were to shoot and kill someone, I just couldn’t handle it. I don’t think I could live with myself. Even if I shot them in self defense, if they died, I would need a lot of therapy. I would much rather have self defense weapons that were less lethal, like pepper spray or a stun gun. Unfortunately for Christopher Miller, all he had was a very large handgun.
Christopher Miller was a pizza delivery man. An order had been placed for a pizza and so he went to do his job. When he arrived to the house, four armed men jumped out in an attempt to rob him.
Miller ran, while one of the young men, who happened to be 17, was beating him the whole time. Miller had a gun on him but he didn’t want to use it unless he really had to. After 100 feet of running and taking a beating, Miller started to fear for his life because there were still three other armed men that could join in.
So Miller pulled out his .45 caliber pistol and pointed it at the young man who had been beating him. He pulled the trigger twice, putting two bullets into the young man’s chest. The bullets killed the teenager.
If the pizza man had had something like pepper spray, he could have spared the life of the young man. With pepper spray he could have stopped all of the armed attackers and escaped unharmed.
Though Miller wasn’t charged because he killed the young man in self defense, a less lethal self defense weapon could have spared him the traumatic experience of killing another human being.
