Taser Used on a Drunk, Knife-Wielding Moviegoer

Okay everybody, listen up. If you are going to go to a movie, you should probably go sober. But if you feel that you must go to a movie while you are drunk, you should most definitely choose to leave your knife at home. If you don’t, they could end up zapped by a Taser.

In Calgary, a man did just that. He went to watch a recently released movie while he was extremely intoxicated. After the movie was over, he didn’t quite feel like going home, though the staff felt that he should leave.

When theatre management and mall security approached the intoxicated man, he pulled out a knife. So, management and security backed off and called the police.

When the police walked into the theatre, the drunken man was sitting alone. As they approached him, he jumped up and had his knife ready to go. One of the officers then pulled out his Taser and shot the man.

The police were able to arrest the man and take him to a hospital. At the hospital it was found that he didn’t have any serious injuries. Then off to jail he went.

I think that this is a great story, especially considering all of the controversy in Canada right now over stun guns and Tasers. These Canadian officers did their jobs splendidly. They used a Taser and safely brought in a man who was a real threat to the public. They brought him in without anyone getting hurt; although I’m sure it hurt when they stunned the intoxicated man.
