Stun Gun Helps Bring Knife Wielding Suspects to Justice

Two stories involving knives and stun guns were in the news recently. Oddly enough, both of the stories came out of the United Kingdom.

A teenager in the United Kingdom was feeling suicidal, sadly. He was contemplating taking his own life with a large kitchen knife. The police were notified and showed up at his terrace.

The stand-off between the police and the 19 year old lasted for over an hour, all the while the police were trying to convince him to give himself up. When the teen wouldn’t comply, the police were given permission by their superiors to storm the house and subdue the teen with a stun gun.

When the police broke into the house, the teen had already cut one of his wrists. They detained him after stunning him. Thanks to a stun gun, his life was spared. Someday he will be thankful.

The next day, in a different part of the United Kingdom, a man started to run from the police. He too was carrying a knife. When the police caught up to the man, he proceeded to stab one of the officers twice. The other officer pulled out the stun gun that he had been issued and zapped the suspect. This enabled him to be cuffed and unable to cause any more harm.

The officer who had been stabbed actually walked away without injury, thanks to his stab vest that was designed just for such an occasion.

Neither of the suspects that were zapped by the stun guns suffered any injury except as a result of the stun gun.

As you can see, stun guns can save the lives of both the suspect and the arresting officer.
