Stun Gun Used on Slap-Happy Employer
When the police are trying to arrest you, you should really be clear about the law before you resist arrest. If you resist and the police have a right to arrest you, then you could end up zapped by a stun gun. That is what one businessman found out when he resisted arrest.
W.C. Fore, a business man from Mississippi, was recently accused of striking one of his employees. That employee reported this to the police when it happened and they came to arrest Fore. When the police arrived, Fore was not too happy about the situation.
Fore told the police that since they didn’t have a warrant, they couldn’t arrest him. He was mistaken. When someone disturbs the peace, the police don’t need a warrant. Since Fore refused to cooperate and threw a fit, the police used a stun gun in order to arrest him. He didn’t like it, but too bad.
Though other employees at his company hadn’t seen Fore strike the former employee, the courts ruled that Fore had indeed done it. He was charged with simple assault and resisting arrest.
Maybe I’m way off here, but I don’t think that any employer should ever hit their employee. It just isn’t good business and it definitely takes its toll on morale. I think that the employee definitely did the right thing by reporting it to the police. That kind of thing just can’t go unreported. And honestly, I am kind of glad that the police ended up having to use a stun gun on the unethical employer. He kind of had it coming.
