Police Use Pepper Spray on Teens Bent on Violence

Young people can be so full of angst. It can be a hard thing to deal with, as I remember. What is really bad though, is when a bunch of angry teenagers get together in a street to fight. When this happens, the police get involved. When the police get involved, the pepper spray may come out, as well as the TASERs. This sort of thing happened in Waterville, Maine and three people ended up arrested.

It started with a call to the police. Someone called up complaining about a group of people in the street yelling and getting ready to fight. The police showed up and had everyone leave. However, a quarter hour after they left, the police received another call. They rowdy bunch had returned and were preparing to fight again.

When the police arrived again, they were in for a surprise. Nobody would calm down and the even started to turn on the police! One of the officers was about to arrest an obviously drunk teen when the youngster turned and struck the officer. It knocked his glasses off and nearly knocked him over. The officer then used the stun tool on his Taser to shock him.

The police also pulled out the pepper spray and discharged it. This helped the police a lot and they were able to make some arrests of the biggest trouble makers.

Street violence has always been a big problem and it can potentially be very dangerous. Thankfully, the police have pepper spray and can quickly deescalate a dangerous situation like group violence. It helps keep the police officers safe, as well as citizens.
