Stun Gun Helps Save Home From Flames
Mother’s day is a much anticipated day for many moms, many are expecting flowers and balloons and perhaps a romantic getaway. However, one mom in Australia got more than she ever thought she’d get.
On May 1st, in Gold Coast, Australia, police receive a call from a woman who said her 40-year-old son was threatening to burn down her house. When they arrived, the man was alone in the house and would not let anyone into the house. He also told the police to call the fire department because he intended to burn down the house. The man then poured gasoline on the screen door and continued to pour gasoline throughout his mother’s home.
He then started to damage things inside of the house, breaking his mother’s belongings and whatever else he managed to destroy. Police were then able to break into the house. The man ran into the kitchen where he was able to get a hold of some knives to fight the police with. The police then subdued him with a stun gun.
The man was then taken to the police department for questioning and, afterwards, admitted into the Gold Coast Psychiatric Hospital for psychiatric assessments.
Arson is a pretty big deal. It can destroy more than just possessions. It can destroy lives. Thankfully the police had a stun gun in order to stop this man. It didn’t just protect them and the house, but the suspect as well. Having weapons to use against the police warrants lethal force. The police showed great self control by using a stun gun instead of their firearms.
