TASER Saves Dutch Man’s Life

There has been a lot of controversy over the use of TASER guns recently, and honestly, I think that it is completely ridiculous. A very small fraction of people who have been stunned by the weapon have died and people are in a tizzy, but they never complain about how many people have died thanks to police handguns. What about all of the lives that are saved thanks to the electroshock gun?

The Netherlands is currently in a trial period for the use of TASERs by law enforcement officers and it has already started to bode well. A suicidal man was recently saved thanks to good police work with the stun gun.

A man had become very distressed due to various circumstances in his life. He felt as though his life was falling apart and that the best option for him was to take his own life. He prepared to do just that on a balcony, but the police were soon involved.

They tried to talk him down for several hours while the man held several knives to his own throat. Since the talks weren’t going anywhere or convincing the man to put the knives down, the police snuck into his room. They then deployed a TASER and shocked the man. He was then arrested and taken to a mental health facility.

Life gets hard for all of us, but taking your own life doesn’t make the problems go away. Instead, it just makes more problems for the loved ones that you leave behind. Thankfully, this Dutch police force had the sense to safely take this guy down with a TASER. And guess what; he didn’t die or suffer any lasting injury.
