One Stun Gun Zap Catches Two Burglars
No matter what kind of home you live in, your home is a sacred place. When people violate the sanctity of the home, it can be frightening and devastating. However, when the people who break in and steal things from a home are caught, the victims often feel vindicated. Recently, two burglars were arrested thanks to a stun gun.
In Rice Lake, Wisconsin, a trailer park resident came home to find that the door to his trailer was open. As he was calling the police, the two perpetrators fled out of the back yard into their car and started driving away. As they were leaving the trailer park, the report was going over the radios and a nearby officer started to chase the burglars.
The chase led into another nearby town and then onto the highway where they reached speeds up to 110 miles per hour. Eventually the car was forced to stop and the driver tried to flee on foot, to no avail. A police officer soon zapped him with a stun gun. The other burglar submitted instantly after that.
When the police searched the car, they found prescription medicine that belonged to the resident of the trailer that had been robbed. Needless to say, both of these men got in a lot of trouble.
Sometimes it takes a zap from an electroshock device to snap some sense into a criminal. Other times, just seeing someone go down because of that zap is enough to scare the criminal into submission. Either way, it is a good thing that the officers had this sidearm alternative and it was skilled deployment that caught two crooks with one zap.
