Pepper Spray Subdues Wanted Man
Sometimes the police catch a lucky break and run across someone they are looking for without even trying. However, when it comes to arresting that person, it sometimes takes some effort. Thankfully, the police have pepper spray to help them bring in wanted criminals with a little more ease.
In Portland, Maine, two officers were out on patrol in the entertainment district. They happened to spot Lynel Moultrie, who had several warrants out for his arrest. The officers decided to seize the opportunity and arrest him.
As the police approached Moultrie, he became uneasy. When they tried to place him under arrest, he shoved one of the officers and tried to make his escape. The other officer caught him however and used some pepper spray to keep him from getting very far.
Soon, the officers had Moultrie in handcuffs, but as they were starting to take him to their car, a large crowd of intoxicated people started taunting the police. The people in the crowd were calling them racist and brutal. This wasn’t the case though. They were just doing their jobs.
When they were closer to their car, another group of people stood in their way. One of them refused to make way for the officers, though he was asked several times. Since he was keeping them from getting to their patrol car, they arrested him as well for failure to disperse.
Being on patrol in an entertainment district can be rough. With so many people drinking and carrying on, things can get out of hand quickly. Thankfully though, police have pepper spray to help keep things under control when they need it.
