Homemade Stun Gun Could Ruin a Boy’s Life
Self defense weapons are not toys, but some people just don’t seem to realize that. They are serious tools in case of emergency. However, one 13 year old boy discovered a way to make a stun gun out of a disposable camera from an online video. He decided to go ahead and try to make it. As you can imagine, he got in trouble.
The boy didn’t get in trouble just for making it though. It was only after he made it and showed it to a friend that the trouble began. The friend he showed it to thought that it was a really fun toy that he wanted to bring to school. He did so and started to shock his friends with it.
The police were brought in and the homemade stun gun was confiscated. Though the camera delivers a much lower electrical charge than a police issued electroshock device, it still had the potential to harm others. Being bold, the county Sherriff gave a demonstration to the press about the homemade device and shocked himself with it. He was obviously in pain from the shock.
The Sherriff warned that parents need to keep an eye on their kids while they are online because that is where the young boy learned to make the stun gun. Because the stun gun was brought onto school grounds, the boy could face a felony charge with a punishment up to four years. I hope that he doesn’t get that harsh of a punishment, but I also hope that he realizes that weapons are not toys.
