Pepper Spray Stops Lawnmower Thrower
Assault is a serious charge that too many people take too lightly. One Canadian man discovered just how serious of a charge it can be when he had to flee from police. In order to finally catch him, the police had to use pepper spray. Now he is in a whole world of trouble.
It all started when a man from a town called Oshawa hit his ex-girlfriend. She obviously wasn’t going to take it and she called the police. While she was doing this, he fled and sought refuge in a friend’s basement.
The police started searching the neighborhood and asking people if they had seen him. They eventually found out where he was. As they started to head into the basement, the man fled out of a window.
The officers quickly went outside into the backyard. They started to pursue the abusive ex-boyfriend. In the chase, the man picked up a gas powered lawn mower and threw it at one of the police officers, hitting him in the legs. Other officers quickly caught up with the man and used pepper spray in order to stop him.
The man now faces several assault charges, as well as a charge of resisting arrest. The officer who was hit with the lawn mower needed to be taken to the hospital and released a short time afterward.
Assaulting anyone is just a horrible thing. Thankfully, this man was caught and arrested. People need to learn that they can’t start trouble and then get away with it. When they flee, they only make it worse. If you ever find yourself wanting to flee from the police, just remember that they do carry pepper spray.
