TASER Helps Break up a House Party and Make an Arrest
Everybody likes to have a good time, but make sure that you obey the law when you do. If you don’t, then you may find yourself in trouble with the law. At a house party recently, the law was broken and the police had to use a TASER on someone. In my opinion, being shocked like that doesn’t sound like a good time.
A house party was underway in North Port, Florida. The police had been called due to all of the noise. When they knocked on the door, Francisco Reyes answered the door with some of his friends. When they saw that it was a police officer at the door, they allegedly used the door to hit him repeatedly.
With police outside of the house, everyone started to disperse. Many of them were underage. Reyes and his brother were leaving and the officer who had been hit grabbed him. This is where Reyes and his brother made a big mistake.
The two boys started to fight the officer, holding him and kicking him in the back. Another officer used a TASER on Reyes and then he submitted, putting his hands behind his back as he lay on the ground.
The boys were arrested and charged with assault on a law enforcer, though they of course deny ever hitting him. The owner of the house and thrower of the party was charged with providing alcohol to minors.
Underage drinking is a serious problem and attacking an officer of the law is an even worse one. Thankfully, the officers had a TASER. If they hadn’t, things could have escalated and become very violent. Instead though, the situation was diffused quickly and no one was seriously hurt.
