Pepper Spray Disperses Brawl and a Man Slaps a Horse
There is already too much violence in the world. We don’t need any more. When fights break out and a bunch of people are involved, people can get seriously hurt. That is exactly why police officers have pepper spray. Recently, they had to use some in Wilmington, North Carolina.
It was after 1:00 am when the police showed up. A big brawl had broken out for some unknown reason and the police weren’t too happy about it. There were a lot of people out on the streets and the police weren’t going to be able to stop the fighting with words alone. They were forced to use pepper spray in order to disperse the crowd.
Things had gotten so crazy that the police showed up in large numbers. Mounted police officers showed up to help with crowd control while the fight was being broken up. However, someone in the crowd got a wild hair and decided to smack one of the police horses on the rump. I guess he didn’t realize that police horses are considered officers.
Six people were arrested from the brawling bunch, and the man who slapped the horse was also arrested for assaulting a police animal. I’m sure the man who smacked the horse though it was unfair, but the law is the law. You don’t hit an officer.
My guess is that the people who were arrested had had some alcohol to drink. Their decision making skills may have been reduced, so they ended up doing stupid things. Pepper spray hurts, so maybe the pain will help them remember what drinking too much can lead to.
