Repeat Offender Tried to Escape Through Ceiling but Pepper Spray Stopped Him
Some criminals never learn their lesson. They get in trouble, spend time in prison, then go right back to their life of crime. Recently, one repeat offender tried to escape from the police, but they used pepper spray to help bring him down. Perhaps this time he will learn his lesson, but it is very unlikely.
The police had been outside of Casey Beckham’s apartment all day in a standoff. They had already arrested his girlfriend on suspicion of possessing meth. Beckham had several warrants for bail jumping, escaping an officer, possession of stolen property, and drug possession.
Beckham had quite the record as it was, and he was only making his list of crimes longer. He had robbed someone’s house and the homeowner chased him down in their car. He had walked away from a County Jail work crew, when he obviously wasn’t supposed to. He even had several drug and theft charges that he admitted to openly in court.
When the police finally broke into Beckham’s apartment, they couldn’t find him at first. But when they noticed a hole in the bathroom ceiling, they realized how he was trying to escape. They pumped pepper spray into the whole unit and soon had him out of the ceiling.
Police found $8,500 in his apartment, along with a pound and a half of meth that was ready to distribute. Beckham is going to go away for a long time again, perhaps with a harder sentence than his previous 4 year sentence. For his sake, I hope that he figures out that he can’t do this his whole life. There is more to life than a life of crime.
