Robber Shot in Self Defense by Pharmacy Owner
I know from experience that witnessing an armed robbery is a terrifying thing. Having a loaded gun pointed at you isn’t the least bit comforting. It is in those times that I know I would want a means of self defense. Thankfully for one pharmacy owner, he had a gun to defend himself when a man tried to rob his store.
A pharmacy in San Antonio was doing business as usual. Little did they know that outside there was a man in a car who was preparing to rob them. He had been in the parking lot all morning trying to work up the courage to do what he felt needed to be done.
After he had built up his resolve to rob the store, he headed into the pharmacy with his face covered with a bandana and blue rubber gloves on his hands. He approached the counter with a loaded revolver in his right hand and a note in his left. He handed the note to the pharmacist. The note said that he wanted some “OxyConton” and some money.
The clerk at the front of the store notified the store’s owner, who happened to be there, that the store was being robbed. The owner got his gun and approached the desperate criminal. When the robber noticed the owner he spoke his last four words: “Let’s get it on.” The owner then shot the crook in the chest, killing him.
In a struggling economy, some people feel they must resort to crime in order to survive. While I don’t like the idea of killing other people, sometimes you must do drastic things in self defense.
