Pepper Spray Used When Riot Breaks Out at Home for Troubled Youth
It seems to me that it is harder to grow up in our world these days. More and more young people are getting into trouble. Some of them have gotten into trouble and been required to go to special homes for trouble youth. These places are there to try to help them, but some of them don’t want any help. Recently, when some of these rebellious youths started trouble, pepper spray was needed to get the situation under control.
The Randolph Children’s Home in Randolph, New York is one of those homes for troubled youths. One night, about a dozen of the young people got together and decided that they were going to leave. There were a couple older boys who were leading the group, and they led them into a lot of trouble.
On the night they escaped, they didn’t flee far. They ran to an abandoned building across the street and tried to hide. Of course, the police were called and they quickly discovered where the young people were hiding.
When the police brought them all back to the home, but once they were there, the trouble really began. All of them started to yell and fight the police. The police had no choice but to use pepper spray to stop the commotion and arrest the boys who were leading the group. The ones who were arrested were charged with starting a riot and were taken to a secure juvenile detention center.
Growing up can be hard. Emotions run high and you think you know everything there is to know about life. But these young people learned the hard way that they have a lot to learn.
