Student Stuns Knife Wielding Robber
A knife wielding robber who targeted a woman’s hostel will think twice before trying his luck again, after he was taken down by a stun gun device by a female student resident.
The robber in question decided to target the Cape Peninsula University of Technology Bellville campus, after obtaining a stolen student card for access. Once the robber gained entry to the women’s campus, he then targeted a room, where a student was innocently studying for her chemical engineering exam.
However, once the robber knew he wasn’t alone, he quickly threatened the young woman, before shoving her into a cupboard. After he had dealt with her, he then stole two cellphones and a laptop before fleeing the room.
Unfortunately for the suspect, the 21-year-old then kicked her way free from the cupboard and without thinking grabbed her TASER device before chasing after the suspect. In times such as these where your safety is called into question, many people generally find that they operate on adrenaline when they fight back. And this was certainly the case for the young woman and her self defense device.
After tracking the suspect to the gate of the hostel, the young woman then stunned him repeatedly in a bid to disable him until police officers arrive at the scene where they took the suspect away into police custody.
This just goes to show, that even though all female hostels may seem like an easy target, in most cases they’re not. Women these days, especially women who live on campus, are protected with some form of protection, which usually takes the shape of a stun gun that also has the ability to disguise itself by looking like an unsuspecting cell phone.
This news should be a testament to those individuals who are thinking about targeting a university campus, whether all female or coed, in a bid to steal items in what they believe is an easy way. In most cases what people will find, is that if something appears to be easy, they could ultimately end with witnessing a victim turning on the them with a stun gun for protection.
After all, once you’ve been stunned by these devices, you won’t want to experience the shock again.
