Stun Gun Attacks See Four Arrested
In North Seattle, two young women, a man and a teenage girl were arrested after they were found to be connected with a number of stun gun attacks on women in the area.
Police says that the attacks which happened between May 17 and 24 were targeted at women who were alone, while distracted by taking items from their car.
The arrested suspects aged 17, 21, 22, and 25 attacked women in their 50s and 60s, where they stunned their victims and stole their purses and any other items they believed to be of value before then making their quick escape in a nearby waiting car.
Attacks of this sort are unfortunately not uncommon. While many of us rely on the safety of stun gun devices when it comes to our protection, there are countless more people in this world who are willing to abuse their power in a bid to steal from other people that cause harm to those who don’t require their use.
Not only that, but the four individuals who were arrested, victimized elderly women, one of whom used a cane for assistance. So not only are they stealing women’s purses and money, but they are also targeting women who may not be able to defend themselves when alone.
Unfortunately it’s a sad world we live in when people feel that they have to resort to devices such as a stun gun that have been designed with safety in mind, in order to get what they want.
Instead of attacking someone’s grandmother, why not get a job instead. The time and effort that it ultimately put into robbing someone could instead be utilized through honest working that will see more monetary benefits than from a stolen purse. Just think, the next time someone decides to target a elderly woman for her purse, stop and consider, because that could just as easily be your own grandmother your targeting.
In the end, it won’t be a happy ending for those involved; you’ll eventually get caught and will end up spending time in prison for the acts you committed. Plus because of these four suspects, the name of self defense devices will only be tarnished, and that’s not what we want, considering the good that many of these tools have achieved because of their effectiveness in times of need.
