Suspect Subdued with TASER Device after Shot Out Windows
An incident which involved a neighbors windows being shot out saw police officers in Niagara Falls subdue an 18-year-old man with a TASER device twice after an alleged scuffle with the officers at the scene after they were investigating the complaint about the four shot out windows.
The 18-year-old in question was charged with fourth-decree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, in addition to first-degree reckless endangerment. Officers reported that they stunned the man in question twice after they were questioning him about the windows that had been shot out minutes earlier.
Once police had apprehended the young man, they then confiscated a loaded .22 caliber rifle with a cutdown stock at his home that was near where the man was sitting out on his porch.
Why the 18-year-old did this has not been determined; however it does paint a clear picture about the effectiveness of self defense devices such as TASER weapons which are utilized on a daily basis by the police force in many areas and states across the United States.
Before these devices were created, officers typically relied upon traditional firearms such as guns when it came to situations that required brute force. Now however, that’s no longer the case. These devices are easy to employ, but not only that, they provide a much safer route when it comes to disabling an individual without them incurring any harm as a result.
Furthermore, because there is no longer the necessary contact between an officer and a suspect, there is no longer that same brute force required as contact is limited. Additionally, because a TASER device is quick to activate, when it comes up against a firearm, such as the 18-year-old’s firearm, it proved highly effective at putting a stop to a situation that could have seen different results, had the young man been able to utilize his gun in time.
Of course, when it comes to self defense devices such as TASER weapons, stun guns and pepper spray, they are seeing an increase in the amount of people operating them for their safety, which means that people’s safety is no longer a question if they have one of these tools at their assistance.
