Learn Defense through Self Defense
Answer this question: What would you do if you found yourself confronted by an aggressive attacker? Would you be able to fight back, or would you simply run, hoping to outrun the individual as you made your way to safety?
While these may not necessarily be questions that you think about on a daily basis, they are questions that should be thought about. After all when it comes to a person’s self defense it’s important that they have a plan already set out detailing what they would do if such a situation occurred.
In order to have a plan of action, a good idea to think about is self defense classes. These offer the perfect opportunity for people to learn skills that will show them what they can do in order to avoid an event that sees them becoming a victim as they defend themselves.
Classes that individuals attend should be full of different scenarios, as these provide the opportunity to tackle each one in the most effective manner. Furthermore, using an array practice weapons which also helps to stimulate real attacks by showing the unique techniques required to overcome your attacker.
Constant training is also required in order to maintain the skills you learn. A good teacher will consistently be testing you to see if you have retained what you have learnt, while also springing surprise moves on you (as you progress, and learn more) which will keep you light on your toes and concentrated on the matter at hand.
If you do find yourself faced with an attacker, it’s important for the targeted individual to remove themselves from the line of attack; the line of attack being the area in which the attacker’s weapon is coming at you. Once you have removed yourself from that line of attack, your next step is to get the attacker’s mind off what they intend to do next.
In a self defense class you will be able to go through each technique slowly making sure that each student present knows who to use each technique and how to use them effectively.
Knowing what you are doing in the class will definitely show through when faced with an individual on a street. By effectively executing the moves you have consistently learned in self defense will move you won’t fail in a real setting.
