Zookeepers Arm themselves with Pepper Spray
Nowadays it’s not just hikers who are arming themselves with pepper spray in case of a confrontation with a dangerous animal; now zookeepers are joining the group.
The spray canister is seeing a rise in zoos as the zookeepers look for novel ways to protect themselves against an attack from potentially hostile animals.
Of course before the zookeepers are allowed to carry the device around with them, they are first required to undertake training to enable them to effectively know what to do in different scenarios.
During the training process the zookeepers learn how far the spray can travel, in addition to taking wind into account. Consequently what they learn will ultimately aid them on the job, just like pepper spray has helped many hikers who find themselves unexpectedly confronted with an angry bear.
However when it comes to zoo keeping there will ultimately be times when the safety of a zookeeper is called into question. But now that zoos are starting to consider a self defense spray as an ideal option for the protection of its workers, those incidences will be reduced greatly.
When it comes to humans many people often carry a personal safety device around with them to maintain their safety when outside. And yet, it can often be overlooked that animals just like humans are prone to attack every now and then as well.
As a result of this because individuals protect themselves from other individuals, there should also be a form of protection against dangerous animals too.
Wherever a person works, regardless of whether it’s with animals or people, they should be able to go to work knowing that their well being is in safe hands. And while there may be times when that may be questioned, simply knowing that they carry their own form of self defense should be enough to increase their confidence in the workplace.
Pepper spray provides the perfect solution when it comes to protection against dangerous zoo animals. Quick and effective, it certainly does the job at stopping an animal in its tracks, allowing enough time for a zookeeper to escape.
