Self Defense for Women
Nowadays when it comes to self defense everyone regardless of the fact that you male or female should have some form of protection under their belt, which will enable them to utilize those skills when they require them the most.
Women especially.
Now however boyfriends and husbands may be asking their girlfriends and wives to walk them to the car during night time hours after they received training in defense and alertness from Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield.
The self defense course which was called Ladies Beware focused on increasing the options available to women. According to the ACSO, there is one violent crime taking place every five seconds in the United States, in addition to 172 women sexually or physically assaulted every hour.
As a result of this there are numerous defense classes accessible for women to undertake which enables them to expand on their skills and to understand how they can defend themselves in any situation. Furthermore the skills they learn allow them to avoid becoming a target.
Whenever a woman undertakes a defense course she can expect to learn vital skills that relate to avoidance and situational techniques, in addition to utilizing improvised weapons and self defense devices.
The course also instructs women to stop certain behaviors which may force them to stand out in the crowd when an attacker is looking for a victim. For example, predators generally target women who may be distracted when on the phone, looking down or searching through their bags.
Not only that, but employing improvised weapons is ideal as women will learn how to utilize what they have in their purse at the time a potential attack may take place. Thus helping to give the woman the upper hand in a situation.
Instead of teaching intensive physical moves which may be forgotten after six months have passed, many self defense courses focus on teaching woman simple moves such as a choke-hold release.
The main goal however with these courses is to prepare a woman in case she should find herself a target. By knowing what to do in a situation will provide a better chance of escaping without any harm, compared to not having any protection skills at all.
