TASER International Receives Large Order for Department of Public Safety

TASER International, the leader when it comes to electronic control devices and digital evidence solutions, has received an order from the Texas Department of Public Safety for 2748 TASER devices, in addition to related accessories.

After an extensive review of the company’s available technology the DPS in Texas will be issuing the stunning devices to its troopers, making the order the fourth largest purchase of the self defense tools in the United States.

The Chairman and founder of TASER International said that by providing an effective and safe tool for utilization and as the fourth largest order, the people of Texas, plus additional law enforcement agencies will be assisted with product effectiveness, enhanced accountability, in addition to reducing the number of injuries to officers and suspects. It will also reduce the amount of excess force that other traditional weapons require.

At present there are over 475 law enforcement agencies in Texas that employ TASER devices.
