Pepper Spray is Ideal for Keeping Australians Safe in Northern Ireland
Australia has warned its citizens that when they are travelling to Northern Ireland they should avoid all demonstrations and protests as they could potentially find themselves unknowingly caught up in a violence that is directed towards others.
The reviewed guidance follows the recent rise of rebellious activity and sectarian violence, in addition to a number of failed bomb attacks aimed at police officers. Earlier in the year, police said that the danger from rebellious persons was at its highest since the 1998 Real IRA Omagh bomb, which subsequently killed 29 people.
The guidance has been brought to light after political tension and civil unrest arose in the area, rather than terrorism. One way, however, for Australians to maintain their safety is by carrying pepper spray with them. Of course, before boarding a flight to Northern Ireland passengers will be required to pack any sprays into their checked baggage, but once they arrive they can freely carry the self defense spray canister with them as they explore the historical sights.
Of course, those worrying about the state of things in the UK and Northern Ireland should rest assured that the level of advice is currently at the exercise caution stage, a level higher than the be alert to own security, but one level below the high degree of caution, do not travel, plus reconsider your need to travel.
Furthermore, those travelling to Northern Ireland can rest assured that when they arrive they will receive a friendly and warm welcome, where they can enjoy the scenery and rich heritage.
Every year it is estimated that roughly 50,000 New Zealanders and Australians travel to Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland has recently experienced serious sectarian rioting in north Belfast’s Ardoyne district.
Additionally, tensions have been linked with parades in different areas of the country, for example Rasharkin, County Antrim. And yet, any person travelling should consider carrying pepper spray with them in a bid to boost their personal protection.
Nobody’s holiday should be spoiled simply because they found themselves in the wrong area mixed up in a parade that was aimed at inflicting harm on other people.
