Pepper Spray Prevents Abduction

Pepper spray proved to be a life saver for one Norfolk woman after she was nearly abducted in the evening as she made her way to her vehicle.

When the woman made it to her car, a knife was pointed at her back, while her potential abductee ordered her to get in and drive off.

She was only lucky enough to escape after utilizing her self defense spray on the man.

After police arrived at the scene, they began searching through yards, in a bid to look for any clues that may have been left behind.

Police themselves are not sure if this is the first time the suspect has targeted individuals or if this incident could in fact be related to other cases that have taken place in or around the city.

The victim, who lives a block and a half away from where she was targeted, explained that she had parked there, just like many other people, simply because there is no proper parking accessible in the apartments that she resides in.

While the suspect may still be at large, the fact that the woman was able to escape safely is all thanks to her pepper spray, and its effectiveness at preventing an attacker from continuing with their actions.

In most cases a person will never know when they need to employ a device for their protection; however it’s always better to be prepared than not at all, especially in the crime ridden society that many people find themselves in.

After all, when it becomes a matter of life and death, it can all come down to one quick spurt of spray that will ultimately separate the two, which is all that it will generally take.

In situations where an individual does find themselves the target of an attack, simply knowing that they have the means of protecting themselves will greatly benefit them, compared to an individual who may lack that protective measure.

Hopefully, as a result of this instance, more people will find themselves purchasing pepper spray as their own form of protection that they may one day utilize for their safety.
