Police Tackle Crime Challenges in Dorset
In the past year, there have been around 48,000 incidents of antisocial behavior reported to Dorset Police in England, with many of the reports associated with rowdy behavior causing the most complaints, animals and abandoned vehicles.
The Chief Constable reported to the Dorset Police Authority that tackling antisocial behavior was a continual problem in the area.
However, recent data has shown a 7.9 percent fall in antisocial incidents. Furthermore, violent crime has decreased by 5.5 percent, with males under the age of 25 at the top for committing offenses that are fuelled by alcohol.
One of the main challenges that officers are dealing with is nighttime activity and the effects that alcohol can have on those committing the offenses and its victims.
In response the a 17.4 percent rise in recorded domestic violence incidents, steps have been put into place within a large Polish community that resides within Poole.
And yet, while there has been a decrease in the seizing of powder heroin and cocaine, an increase in crack cocaine has been seen.
Additionally vehicle crime has declined by 19.4 percent; however robberies and home burglaries has continued to rise.
Of course, while Dorset Police continue to tackle incidents related to antisocial behavior, there are ways that the general public can implement in order to maintain their safety. One way is by purchasing a canister of pepper spray.
This self defense device is employed by countless individuals across the globe for their protection. It is also a vital tool to have if you are out at night, as it can be easily carried in a bag or pocket. Not only that, but while it may be a small device to hold, it can certainly pack a punch once it has been deployed on the unfortunate individual who decides to target you.
There is only so much police can do, and if you have no way to call for help, knowing that you have your own form of protection on you will greatly increase your chances of escape should you become victim to an attack.
After all, you only need a small window of escape to get away from your attacker; once you have done that then you can alert police who can take over from where you left off.
