Locals and Police Combat Crime

The links between Park Beach police and its residents will be immensely improved after a law and order meeting. NSW, a State member for Coffs Harbour, the Coffs Harbour Council, in addition to concerned residents have agreed to work together in order to tackle crime in the area.

While many believe that there is not a silver bullet solution to the social problems that local residents are experiencing, workable solutions would be undertaken in order to tackle the petty crime.

The meeting itself was incredibly positive and witnessed countless people in attendance as they made their stand against crime while searching for solutions to the problems. However, in order to combat crime it would ultimately be down to the assistance from the public.

Officers are looking for help from residents to work with the officers and report any crimes that happen in order for the police to be able to respond and ultimately catch those committing the acts.

Furthermore, officers will be speaking with many of the residents from the meeting in order to set up a community neighbourhood watch group by utilizing the resources available. Yet, many residents at the meeting expressed that they noticed less crime within the area compared to 10 years ago.

In order for a community to tackle crime levels within it, it is important that the police and residents work together to achieve this. Setting up community watch groups is an ideal solution, as it means that there will always be a group of people watching what is going on with the other members in the area. Not only that, but it provides the safe knowledge that someone is always looking out for someone else.
