Chicago Police Tackle High Crime Areas
According to authorities, the Chicago Police Department has relocated around 150 of its officers from a crime unit into dangerous areas in a bid to assist at fighting street crime.
Officers will find themselves divided among the high crime areas and if required will be dispatched to the problem locations. The Deputy Superintendent explained that district commanders have a deep understanding of the ongoing issues within their districts. This includes knowing what makes people feel unsafe, for example gang conflicts or fired shots.
In addition to adding 150 officers to high crime areas, police are employing another tactic that is aimed at preventing crime.
The Chicago Police Department will also be reaching out to high schools as they expand their outreach programs that are designed to stop gang violence.
Of course, while the added presence of police officers will greatly help, as well as boost the community’s sense of protection, there are other measures that the members of the public can take in order to increase their safety on their own grounds.
For example, a stun gun would be an ideal self defense device to own that will immensely improve a person’s safety levels, particularly if they find themselves residing in a dangerous area. Not only that, but those who already own a stunning device will clearly explain how more confident they have become, especially if they are out by themselves, because they know if they need help they don’t have to look far to get it.
In today’s society police officers are doing all that they can to reduce crime levels within a community, but in some cases there may not be enough officers to handle the task at hand. As a result of this, the public needs to employ a way to boost their safety without relying solely on police help.
This is where a stun gun comes into play. Easy to use and easy to conceal, it presents the perfect device. Furthermore, anyone who is faced with one of these stunning devices will instantly know what they are and will quickly be reconsidering their actions which is what you want.
