Slight Increase in Crime Rates
Recorded crime rates in Chelmsford in Britain has shown a rise in the past six months. Figures released by Essex Police for the months running from April to September depict 4,667 crimes were recorded in the district. This number is compared to 4,489 during the same period in 2009.
Increases were illustrated in the categories of assaults by 32, home burglaries by 32 in addition to offences against people by 230. However, an acting chief inspector explained that the rises were not enough to cause any immediate concerns.
With a target to decrease crime by 1 percent by March 2011, law enforcement agencies are hopeful that they will achieve it.
The rise in crime is in part thought to be because of the busy summer with events such as the V Festival, as well as crime increasing at this time of year. But, it is thought that with the colder months and darker nights, the level of crime will decrease.
Of course, even though police don’t consider the slight increase in crime rates to be a concern that shouldn’t stop people from searching for ways in which they can protect themselves from harm. One way of doing this of course is by purchasing pepper spray.
Same and effective to employ, anyone can carry the spray canister around with them. Should they need help when their safety is at risk they can quickly call upon their canister to prevent an offender from causing them harm.
In today’s society we could all do with a little protection, and now we can when it comes to the ownership of pepper spray. Easy to utilize, one spray will instantly incapacitate an individual, providing enough time for a quick escape to be made.
Even though, the use of the device may not be called upon, simply knowing that it is closeby will give a person the added confidence they need if they should find themselves confronted with an assailant.
Furthermore, it is easy to conceal, so no one will be any wiser as to determining whether or not you are carrying a powerful tool on your person. Simply knowing that you have the upper hand in that respect can change how you present yourself to others, which could mean the difference of becoming a target of crime and avoiding that possibility.
