80 TASER Devices Proposed for Beaumont Police
After the Beaumont City Council approved the purchase of 80 TASER devices, Beaumont police will soon be capable of carrying an additional self defense device for their safety and those of others when it comes to tackling hostile and violent suspects.
When it comes to protection, officers know the importance of a stunning tool. For them every day is different which often sees officers not knowing who or what they may encounter while on duty.
In order to avoid getting hurt and becoming a victim it is important for officers to have something that can protect them. Even though officers enjoy their jobs simply because they are able to help people, sometimes the only way that can be done is through the employment of force on criminals.
As a result, the employment of devices such as TASER weapons come in handy. And now every Beaumont officer will be equip with the device.
By utilizing one of these self defense devices it decreases the requirement to employ brute force on an individual that could potentially injure them. The police department will fund the devices by tapping into a fund that is made up of confiscated drug money.
Essentially, this money that has been taken off the streets is turned into a device that greatly increases the safety of an officer and the public.
By receiving these new 80 TASER devices, the department will in turn hand over 32 of the stunning tools it has had in operation for nearly ten years.
Not only will the new tools improve police safety, but it will also mean that all Beaumont officers will receive a self defense device. These tools have greatly become a viable safety device, not just for police, but also for the general public too.
Now, when officers do their duty by protecting the lives of the public they can rest assured that when they need to tackle an unruly offender who is causing a threat to a law-abiding citizen, they will be able to subdue the suspect without needing to resort to brute force.
They will also be limiting the amount of harm involved that could potentially be incurred without the help from a TASER device.
