House Burglaries: Don’t Make Yours an Easy Target
Following a rise in the number of house burglaries across the Vale of Glamorgon in Wales, local police are again reminding its residents to lock their windows and doors to prevent their homes from becoming easy targets. Since the beginning of September over 40 percent of recorded burglaries have been the target of homes not properly secured.
Police are stressing the importance of making people realize their need to protect their homes and possessions, in addition to making sure all windows and doors are locked, particularly with the Christmas holidays approaching.
Take the time to remove any belongings that can easily be taken and seen. In most cases burglaries occur on any given instant as a burglar may seen an opportunity and take that risk. In other instances, burglars will pick out homes they consider insecure and an easy target.
