The Scottish Government has awarded £18,000 to Renfrewshire in a bid for police and warden patrols to target festive booze-related crime as part of its Safer Streets implementation.

The money will be employed to provide support to community safety projects that are aimed at decreasing alcohol related violence in town centres during the festive season. The funding will aid at developing on existing campaigns that have been a success at making the streets safer in addition to helping to continue with previous work.

By putting extra wardens and police in the centres of Johnstone, Paisley and Renfrew during the holiday season means that streets will be safer. Residents or those visiting Renfrewshire should be able to enjoy a night out without having to worry about their safety.
