Man Experiences TASER Shock after Resisting Arrest
Round Valley Tribal Police were investigating a driver who was believed to be intoxicated. While the investigation was taking place, the 36-year-old driver allegedly attacked a Tribal officer by kicking and punching the officer numerous times, causing injury in the process.
Luckily, the officer was capable of employing his portable radio where he summoned emergency assistance from the sheriff’s office as well as the California Highway Patrol. In a bid to subdue the aggressive suspect, the Tribal officer tried to spray him in the face with pepper spray; however, this didn’t have the desired effect.
The 36-year-old driver then turned his anger on the Tribal Police vehicle. Picking up an old car tire, he threw it at the windows, causing more then $400 worth of damage.
As other officers arrived on the scene, the intoxicated driver fled the scene which quickly ensued a search for the man. It wasn’t long, however, before the driver was located. As a sheriff approached the man, he was ordered on the ground. Refusing orders from the officer, the 36-year-old male decided instead to run towards the deputy.
With quick thinking and fast actions, the officer withdraw his TASER device. As the suspect continued to make his advance towards the officer, he waited for the right moment before employing the self defense device which subsequently brought the driver’s actions to an end.
In the area where the man was subdued officers found an axe handle and a large knife which both had blood stains on them. It was soon discovered that the 36-year-old man entered or tried to enter numerous homes.
In one of the homes five Pit Bull puppies had been killed. The driver is a prime suspect in the killing of the five puppies.
As a result of the officers actions, the 36-year-old male soon felt the shock from the TASER weapon which ultimately put an end to his actions that could have caused potential harm to the officer involved.
Nowadays, with the assistance of non-lethal tools such as these, officers are able to defend themselves and members of the public while successfully being able to apprehend unruly suspects intent on causing harm to others.
