Surprise Burglaries for Mobile Home Residents
As a result of these incidents, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office is preparing to host a neighborhood watch for the residents of Rock Creek Mobile Home Park.
From November 30 and into the morning of December 1, there were eight reports of attempted burglary or successful burglary which took place inside the park. While most of the reports were minor thefts there were others that saw items such as a $200 leaf blower stolen.
After a male resident reported his stolen truck the California Highway Patrol arrived on scene. The man reported to have left his white truck in his driveway. Unfortunately for the man, who left his keys on the dashboard as per usual, he woke up the next morning to find his pickup gone.
The pickup was later found the following day abandoned and quickly returned to the owner.
In another incident a resident reported that her husband followed a man who was acting suspicious. While another reported that a man who was walking down the road with a blanket over his had originally been on top of her car moments earlier.
Many residents are explaining that these burglaries are not normal and as a result are scared because of it.
In the early hours of one morning, one couple were woken up to hear someone attempting to start a car.
When the couple went outside they found that someone has gone through the husband’s SUV and taken paperwork that was inside the glove compartment. The husband then decided to drive around to see if he could locate anyone.
After a quick drive, the husband spotted a man sitting inside a pickup and asked him what he was doing. Apparently the man responded that he was checking his GPS. After explaining that someone was going through cars in the park, the man said he didn’t want to be accused of that and left.
