Shoppers Consider Safety After Mall Abduction
At Lehigh Valley Mall, one shopper found herself the target of a mall abduction after she abducted at gunpoint in the mall parking lot. While many weren’t aware that such a thing could happen at the mall, they were surprised when they found out. As a result, many are now taking their safety seriously, particularly in the lead up to Christmas.
Some shoppers don’t lock their house doors or their cars, claiming that is how it is where they come from. Nowadays though the thought of leaving a home or car unlocked boggles the mind. These days, most people wouldn’t even think about doing that.
Police reported that the man was alleged to have held a gun at the woman and forced her to get into her car before driving to an ATM to withdraw money. The man then forced the woman to take him to a store where he made the woman purchase him clothing.
Authorities were only tipped off after a witness saw what was believed to be a gun being held by the 32-year-old suspect.
According to Lehigh Valley Mall officials security drive around, while the Whitehall police regularly check the property, in addition the assistance from surveillance cameras. However, just because there are these measures put in place, shoppers should also take their precautions as well.
