Knifeman is Subdued with TASER device

A man who was wielding knives in an Oxford pub in England was subdued by a police TASER device.

The man in question had initially been drinking before he went into the pub kitchen and grabbed a pair of knives. The 25-year-old then proceeded to wave the knives at the barman before holding them up against his own throat.

Once police had successfully apprehended the man, he was taken away into police custody. After the incident it was determined that he had been drinking heavily in addition to smoking cannabis and did not have a clear recollection of events.

In situations such as this the action from police is a requirement in order to attain the effective results necessary without causing harm to those involved. In this case, the fact that the offender was waving knives at bar staff and holding them up to his own throat necessitated police to act quick, but in such a way that no harm resulted.

We don’t often think about it, but the role of an officer is often tricky. However, with the extensive amount of training they have undergone and their understanding as to how these self defense devices work they are able to get the results they require when called upon to assist in a dangerous and hostile situation.

It boggles the mind to see why people act the way they do, but unfortunately we live in a society where many people choose to side step the norms of life in order to create havoc. However, the havoc they decide to cause can often lead to further harm which could otherwise have been avoided if such actions were prevented.

During these times the use of a TASER device is extremely effective in that it has the ability to quickly put a stop to someone who is in the process of causing harm or attempting to cause harm and disturbance.

Greatly relied upon by countless law enforcement and members of the public for their protection, a TASER device provides the ideal alternative to lethal weapons. And in the case of the knife wielding man, a non-lethal weapon was required in order to effectively detain the man into police custody.
