Pepper Spray Employed on Burglars

The owner of the home reported to police that when he returned home in the early hours of the morning he found his security lights were turned off, while it appeared that someone had attempted to gain entry to his home by removing a glass panel.

When the owner went through his home to check everything was okay he didn’t find anything unusual.

However, before retreating to bed, the owner decided to undertake another check outside to make sure everything was secured. He reported this is where he met two men standing on his property. One of the men was found to be holding a tire iron.

When asked what they were doing, a struggle commenced. As a result, the homeowner was able to employ pepper spray on one of the suspects; however both the men was able to flee from the area.

After officers arrived on scene, they were able to locate the suspect that had been sprayed with the self defense spray canister. When officers apprehended him he was then transported to hospital for medics to treat him before he was then taken into custody.

The second suspect however was not located.

With the use of pepper spray, the homeowner was effective at being able to put a stop to one of the burglars which allowed police the opportunity to locate the 20-year-old.
