Furthermore, youngsters who take part are also taught about perseverance, integrity, honor and respect through study. After all, it is much more than simply learning how to punch, kick or protect yourself. It is also about being a responsible citizen within the community and personal integrity.
The establishment, which celebrated its opening in March, saw a gathering of children, teenagers and adults who undertook a tour of the 3,200 square foot work out facility which features state of the art matting as well as martial arts equipment. Since its opening around 110 children and adults have signed up for programs.
Those who join Alliance are students who range from beginner to advance and classes are offered in five categories: Teeny Tigers, Core Training, Little Dragons, Black Belt Success and Krav Maga, which is a type of hand-to-hand combat created by the Israeli Defense Force.
In the Tiny Tigers program, which sees preschool children aged from 3 to 4, they are taught a strong foundation in character qualities, which includes discipline, respect and courtesy. Additionally, the program is also designed to enhance children’s motor skills and increase their ability to follow directions and pay attention.
The Little Dragons, for those aged between 5 to 12, learn traditional taekwondo, in addition to life skills and positive values. The students in this category will then move on to the advance Black Belt Success, which is essentially a junior leadership program that enhances responsibility in class and the teachings of knowing how to be a positive role model at Alliance and school.
