TASER Device Employed on Suicide Man with Hatchet

Wilmington police officers employed a TASER device on a suicidal man after he threatened to kill himself with a hatchet.

Officers were initially called to the scene of the man after reports came in that the man was seen carrying a hatchet while pacing outside a grocery store. Once at the scene, officers came into contact with the man in Greenlawn Memorial Park. However, after being confronted by officers, the man placed the hatchet against his throat.

Luckily, with the assistance from a TASER weapon, the man was subdued and taken to a medical center for mental health care treatment.

This means that the employment of a tool such as a TASER device is more likely as the harm inflicted is minimal compared to if a traditional firearm is used. Not only that, but these devices are the ideal tools to employ when it comes to preventing people from inflicting harm on themselves.

If action is required quick then a stunning device is the tool that is often turned to for its quick action and fast results.

With the endless possibilities that these devices have the ability to produce it is no wonder that there are countless police departments around the United States turning their attention to them. After all, if they have the ability to stop people from harming themselves or from harming others then this is certainly a device worth owning.

Thus, the job of an officer is more secured which means that they can go about doing their job more effectively which is to protect members of the public from harm.
