Off-Duty Police Officer Employs Stun Gun to End Fight
The officer, who delivers security services at school, employed a stun gun in order to end the fight between the four of them. After the situation had been brought under control, the only injury was a cut to the head of one of the students involved.
The incident itself commenced in the school parking lot after students were dismissed. Every Wednesday, the school dismisses its students early as part of a professional development program.
The off-duty officers called for assistance during the fight. Once the stun gun had been employed and the students separated, it was determined that they were Raytown South students.
No arrests were made; however disciplinary decisions were referred to the school officials.
Thankfully, with the assistance from the stun gun, the off-duty officer was able to prevent the fight between the four students from continuing any further. Without its assistance, the fight may have proven much more difficult to stop and as a result, more injuries may have been the cause as a result.
In this day and age, it’s not just criminals who need to be apprehended in a quick and effective manner. Students and members of the public are also those who may see themselves being subdued. But, unlike a traditional firearm or a lethal weapon, a stun gun doesn’t leave any injury behind on those it has targeted. Because of this, it is a non-lethal device and the ideal tool for officers to employ when they require quick action.
